Quick setup
Fifth-Shot Reset Race
How to play
- Start each rally with a normal serve and return.
- The serving side plays the third shot normally, then the rally stays live.
- On the fifth shot by the serving side, the team must hit a controlled reset that lands safely and keeps the point playable.
- A clean fifth-shot reset earns 1 reset point if the rally continues without an immediate pop-up put-away.
- If the reset misses, floats for an easy winner, or lands out, the receiving side earns the reset point.
- First side to 5 reset points wins the round, then switch servers or partners.
What counts?
A result counts when it matches the main rule: Fifth-Shot Reset Race: the serving side must make the fifth shot a controlled reset. Clean reset = 1. First to 5 wins. Use this scoring agreement for close calls: first side to 5 clean reset points wins. Do not count attempts that break the setup, happen outside the agreed space, or depend on a call the group cannot agree on.
How to win
Quick mode: first side to 5 clean reset points wins. Timed mode: most clean fifth-shot resets in 8 minutes wins. Group mode: partners rotate after each round and track individual round wins.
