Scoring options

  • 1Classic: front, back, and overall are each worth 1 point.
  • 2Nine-hole mode: use first 3 holes, next 3 holes, and overall 9-hole score.
  • 3Team mode: partners combine better-ball scores for each hole.

Variations

Make it easier

Play only front-nine and back-nine points without the overall point.

Make it harder

Require a player or team to win a segment outright; tied segments carry to the next hole.

Optional setup

Use this as the main activity from Golf Board. Play for points, bragging rights, or simple rotation first. STUD mode is optional and the activity works without it.

Why it works

Nassau keeps a golf round alive because a rough start does not eliminate the back nine or overall match.

Safety / fair play

Use a safe space, avoid hard contact or unsafe surfaces, adjust for age and skill, and agree on close calls before the round starts.

Skins

Each hole has a value. Win the hole outright to win the skin, and ties carry over.

Best for: groups that want constant action across the round.

Wolf

One golfer rotates as the wolf and chooses whether to play solo or pick a partner after the tee shots.

Best for: foursomes that want more decisions than plain match play.

Bingo Bango Bongo

Earn points for first on the green, closest on the green, and first in the hole.

Best for: mixed-skill groups because it rewards more than low score.

Snake

The player who last three-putted holds the snake until someone else three-putts.

Best for: adding pressure on the greens without changing the whole round.
