Before serving, call short, deep, wide, or body. If the serve lands legal in that lane and the receiver cannot return it, the server earns 1 challenge point. A serve outside the called lane earns no challenge point.

Short Serve Toll

A serve that fails to clear the net adds 1 penalty point against the server.

If a serve lands short into the net or fails before the receiver can play it, add 1 penalty point against the server. A legal ace on the next serve can erase that penalty point against them.
