Pick 1 Mini Golf Board
Play a mini golf closest-to-cup round where everyone putts from the same mark and the closest legal leave wins the point.
Play Ideas are the main ways to start with this board.
Play Idea 1
Category: Putting Challenge
Everyone putts once from the same start mark. Closest legal leave to the cup wins the round.
If someone holes it, the next closest leave breaks ties for second-place pressure.
Play Idea 2
Category: Obstacle Putt
Before each hole, call the main obstacle route: bank, tunnel, ramp, rail, or clean lane. Make the called route to score.
A clean called route that also finishes within a putter length of the cup scores double.
Play Idea 3
Category: Putting Challenge
Start close and move one step back after every made putt. Highest completed rung wins.
Two misses on one rung sends the player back one step.
Play Idea 4
Category: Obstacle Putt
Call a safe bank or rail before the putt. A made or close banked leave scores the bonus.
The bonus only counts if the ball avoids the wrong rail or out lane.
Play Idea 5
Category: Mini Golf Course
Each player putts two balls and must continue from the worse leave until the hole is finished.
One rescue token per round lets a player keep the better leave once.
Play Idea 6
Category: Mini Golf Course
Partners alternate every putt on the same ball. Lowest partner score after the chosen holes wins.
The partner who did not tee off must take every second-shot pressure putt.
Play Idea 7
Category: Obstacle Putt
Play selected holes where rail touches add penalty points. Lowest clean score wins.
A hole-in-one or tap-in leave can erase one earlier rail penalty.
Play Idea 8
Category: Putting Challenge
Teams move through a short putting route and hand off after each made putt. Fastest clean finish wins.
Missed comeback putts add a five-second reset before the next teammate starts.
Play Idea 9
Category: Mini Golf Course
Track only holes where a player saves par after a poor first leave. Most saves wins the match.
A save after hitting an obstacle first counts double.
Play Idea 10
Category: Mini Golf Course
If no one wins a hole outright, the point carries to the next hole. Biggest comeback claim wins.
The final hole is worth every carried point plus one.
Play Idea 11
Category: Mini Golf Course
Pairs or teams putt, choose the best leave, and continue from there. Lowest team score wins.
Each teammate must supply at least one selected putt during the round.
Play Idea 12
Category: Putting Challenge
Mark a window near the cup and score only putts that pass through it before stopping safe.
A made putt outside the window counts for the hole but not the target score.
Play Idea 13
Category: Putting Challenge
Each player gets five long putts. Score by made putts plus leaves inside the agreed circle.
The fifth putt is worth double if it finishes closest.
Play Idea 14
Category: Obstacle Putt
Save one point for the final hole and make it a lock-in hole where every player must call their route.
A called route plus hole-out wins the lock-in immediately.
Play Idea 15
Category: Obstacle Putt
Call a safe trick route before putting, then score only if the ball follows that route and stays playable.
A trick call that leaves the course adds one penalty point.
Play Idea 16
Category: Mini Golf Course
Play normal low score, but each player can earn one style point for a called creative route.
Style points only break ties; they do not beat a lower score outright.
Challenge Twists are optional scoring twists. Use them for bonus points, bragging rights, or optional STUD mode only if your group agrees.
Challenge Twist 1
Category: Target Putts
Make the first putt on a hole to earn 1 challenge point.
A player who holes out on the first putt of a mini golf hole earns 1 challenge point. If multiple players do it on the same hole, each earns the challenge point.
Challenge Twist 2
Category: Obstacle Calls
Call a rail or bank and miss the intended route to add 1 penalty point against yourself.
Before putting, a player may call a rail, bank, or wall. If the ball misses that route completely, add 1 penalty point against that player. If it follows the route and finishes close, they earn 1 challenge point.
Challenge Twist 3
Category: Obstacle Calls
Call a bank route before putting. Land inside a putter length to earn 1 challenge point.
A player calls a specific safe bank or rail route. If the ball follows the route and stops inside one putter length of the cup, that player earns 1 challenge point.
Challenge Twist 4
Category: Obstacle Calls
Clear the main obstacle without a reset to earn 1 challenge point.
On a hole with one main obstacle, a player earns 1 challenge point if the ball clears it cleanly and stays playable without a reset.
Challenge Twist 5
Category: Target Putts
Lip out and make the comeback putt to erase 1 penalty point against you.
If a putt clearly lips out of the cup, that player may erase 1 penalty point against them only if they make the next putt.
Challenge Twist 6
Category: Target Putts
From a long start, stop inside the agreed circle to earn 1 challenge point.
The group sets a long-putt start and an acceptable leave circle. A player earns 1 challenge point if the first putt stops inside the circle without leaving the course.
Challenge Twist 7
Category: Target Putts
Closest first putt on each hole earns 1 challenge point.
After every player takes their first putt on a hole, the closest legal ball to the cup earns 1 challenge point. A hole-in-one earns 2 challenge points if the group agrees before play.
Challenge Twist 8
Category: Target Putts
Miss a short agreed tap-in and add 1 penalty point against yourself.
Before play, define a short tap-in distance. Any missed putt from inside that distance adds 1 penalty point against the player.
Challenge Twist 9
Category: Obstacle Calls
Call a safe trick route and finish playable to earn 1 challenge point.
A player calls a safe trick route before putting. If the ball follows the route and stays playable, the player earns 1 challenge point. If it leaves the course, add 1 penalty point against that player.
Challenge Twist 10
Category: Course Rounds
A hole-in-one earns 2 challenge points if the group agrees before play.
Before the round, agree whether a hole-in-one is worth 2 challenge points. If yes, any clean hole-in-one earns 2 challenge points for that player.
Challenge Twist 11
Category: Course Rounds
After a bad hole, par or better on the next hole erases 1 penalty point against you.
If a player adds a penalty point against them on one hole, par or better on the next hole can erase 1 penalty point against them.
Challenge Twist 12
Category: Course Rounds
On the final hole, call the route and finish par or better to earn 1 challenge point.
Before the final hole, each player calls a safe route. A player who follows the route and finishes par or better earns 1 challenge point.
Challenge Twist 13
Category: Target Putts
Leave a long first putt inside the agreed tap-in circle to earn 1 challenge point.
On any long hole, a player earns 1 challenge point when their first putt finishes inside the agreed tap-in circle. A first putt that bounces out of the lane or into a hazard adds 1 penalty point against that player.
