How to play Seven-Card Stud Short Table

Step 1

Deal seven-card stud by the group's agreed reveal rhythm.

Step 2

Play each hand to showdown using points only, with no money or required chips.

Step 3

The hand winner scores 1 and may keep one card from the same deck face down as a visible point marker.

Step 4

Return point cards before the deck would be too short, announce totals, reshuffle, and rotate the deck to the next dealer.

Scoring

How the result works

Each hand win scores 1 point, tracked aloud or with cards from the same deck.

Example: The winner keeps one face-down card as a point marker, then the deck rotates to the next dealer.

Host tip

Keep it clean

Adding chips, a dealer button, or a separate score sheet. The one-deck adaptation uses none of them.

Safety: Use short rounds, visible scoring, clear turns, and the tie rule everyone agreed on.
