How to play Pool Volleyball Mini-Rally

Step 1

Start each rally with a gentle toss or serve over the line or net.

Step 2

Teams use soft taps to send the ball back before it drops in their side.

Step 3

A drop, out-of-bounds ball, hard spike, or unsafe crowding ends the rally.

Step 4

Rotate one player or swap sides after each mini-game so everyone gets turns.

Scoring

How the result works

Use rally scoring: every legal rally awards 1 point to the team that wins it.

Example: Blue taps the ball over twice, Red drops the return, and Blue scores 1 point before both teams rotate.

Host tip

Keep it clean

Playing with hard spikes or chasing crowded balls. Restart the rally instead of forcing a risky save.

Safety: Use supervised shallow water, keep running and diving out of the game, and pause when the pool area gets crowded.
