Fluoxymesterone, usually called Halotestin or Halo, is an oral anabolic steroid discussed for strength, competitive drive and a harder physique. Some lifters describe a pronounced boost; others barely notice it. Aggression, blood-pressure problems and liver risk are central to the tradeoff.
What Halotestin is
- An oral androgen with a specific drug identity. Halotestin is a brand name for fluoxymesterone. Its anabolic-androgenic effects concern muscle and male sexual characteristics; it is not a peptide or an ordinary pre-workout supplement. Official context
- The word Halo can point to different products. A prohormone thread initially confused a Hi-Tech product called Halotestin with the drug. AnabolicMinds also distinguishes prohormone “Halo” from fluoxymesterone. A shared nickname does not make their ingredients, doses or experiences interchangeable. Reddit r/prohormones AnabolicMinds
Why people discuss it
- Strength and drive near competition. Powerlifting and combat-sport accounts describe extra reps or greater determination. These are subjective reports, often during other steroid use; they do not measure Halo’s independent effect. Reddit r/steroids
- A harder look is not a predictable mass gain. The Eroids opener noticed greater vascularity but no added strength or aggression. Other contributors describe energy or irritability. More visible veins, stronger motivation and new muscle are different outcomes. Eroids
What people compare it with
- Anadrol is a strength comparison. One powerlifter preferred oxymetholone after reporting similar benefits with less blood-pressure trouble personally. That individual comparison does not establish a safer substitute. Reddit r/steroids
- Winstrol comparisons split over joints and contest appearance. A 2022 commenter preferred Halo because Winstrol troubled their joints when lean. Another Halo user in the same thread also used dihydroboldenone and Superdrol, making the cosmetic contribution impossible to separate. Reddit r/steroids
Doses people discuss
Amounts are reports, not instructions or safe limits. mg means milligrams. These accounts concern oral Halo; unverified products complicate every comparison.
- Daily reports include 10–25 mg; 40 mg/day also appears. A 2021 MMA account split 10–25 mg total daily into two administrations, with testosterone co-use. Another contributor reported 40 mg/day. These are separate accounts, not a starting-to-maximum ladder. Reddit r/steroids
- 30 mg/day can mean three 10 mg administrations. The Eroids opener described that split and later 30 mg before training. Neither pattern produced the hoped-for strength or aggression in their account. Eroids
- Pre-training amounts are not automatically daily totals. Hyde reported 12 mg and 16 mg before training in the final couple of weeks before a meet, with little perceived benefit. The post does not establish seven-days-a-week use. AnabolicMinds
- 10 mg four times a day totals 40 mg/day. The 2023 adverse account explicitly described this pattern among repeated experiments and severe mental symptoms. A daily total and a tablet or single administration must not be confused. Personal report
Half-life
- 9.2 hours is repeated in an oral-steroid chart. The 2015 iSARMS table lists this for fluoxymesterone. It supplies no original measurement; a reply simply copies the table. Half-life describes a fall in drug amount or concentration, not a fixed period of useful aggression. iSARMS
- 9.2–10 hours appears in an older copied essay. EliteFitness’s 2005 repost gives this range but says its original author is unknown. It is another circulated claim, not a second pharmacokinetic experiment. The label’s separately identified figure appears below. EliteFitness
Onset: when people notice a change
- A session, several days or little change are all reported. A 2022 commenter described aggression during one workout after a 10 mg tablet and explicitly wondered about placebo. That report does not establish immediate strength gain. Reddit r/steroids
- Around day three in one account; modest changes at day seven in another. On iSARMS, mastermolnar described early strength and aggression during contest prep with trenbolone and few carbohydrates. RickRock reported slight strength and appearance changes after a week. These are different circumstances, not a reliable countdown. iSARMS
Duration: how long a change lasts
- No dependable single-dose benefit window is established. The 2023 writer described all-day symptoms during repeated dosing and eventual return to normal after stopping. The account also mentions lingering aggression initially, without a clear interval; it cannot supply an hourly recovery clock. Personal report
- Claims that the hard look fades remain imprecise. An iSARMS moderator says the cosmetic effect does not hold after discontinuation, but gives no measured duration. Neither that opinion nor half-life tells how long strength, mood effects or health consequences persist. iSARMS
Cycles and stopping points
- One-to-two-week competition blocks and four-week reports appear. Both occur in the 2021 discussion. They describe what individuals did, without establishing a safe length or dependable time-off rule. Reddit r/steroids
- Longer plans can encounter fatigue. JM750 reported strength and aggression alongside intolerable lethargy after two weeks. A separate iSARMS account describes three weeks. An intended contest block is not evidence that continuing through symptoms is tolerable. iSARMS
What can change the decision
- Blood pressure and behavior can outweigh stronger lifts. The 2021 thread includes headaches, nosebleeds and markedly elevated pressure, sometimes with other drugs. Enthusiastic ratings coexist with serious adverse reports. Reddit r/steroids
- Mental effects can spill outside the gym. The 2023 writer described panic, paranoia and road rage while repeatedly chasing strength benefits. Co-use complicates attribution; the account does not establish that another person can control the effect by changing the amount. Personal report
- Liver injury can be serious. The label warns of cholestatic hepatitis, jaundice, liver tumors and blood-filled liver cavities called peliosis. A short course or absence of symptoms does not establish safety. Official context
- Hormonal, reproductive and cardiovascular markers matter too. Labeling describes testosterone suppression, reduced sperm production, increased cholesterol, fluid retention and raised red-cell levels. Masculinizing changes such as a deeper voice can be irreversible; pregnancy is contraindicated. Anticoagulant sensitivity and insulin requirements can change. Official context
- U.S. Schedule III; prohibited in WADA-governed sport. DEA explicitly lists fluoxymesterone as Schedule III. WADA prohibits it at all times. These are separate legal and sporting classifications, and half-life is not a drug-test clearance calendar. Official context Official context
What the drug label adds
- Approximately 9.2 hours after oral administration. That is the historical Halotestin label’s pharmacokinetic figure, rather than a user-measured feeling. The label does not provide the underlying study methods here, and explicitly says athletic performance use has not been shown safe and effective. Official context
What the experiences disagree about
- No aggression does not settle whether a product is genuine. Eroids commenters called the opener’s product suspect; another user reported energy without much aggression, while Catalyst described aggression severe enough to avoid reuse. The opener’s later follow-up still expressed uncertainty. Neither side provided a chemical assay. Eroids
- A personal record does not prove the drug caused it. Hyde logged a small deadlift record yet felt little benefit and had a disappointing squat. Whisky separately reported an unimpressive session. Renew1 described strong effects but displayed a company-representative affiliation. Those accounts do not establish a consensus. AnabolicMinds
- Feeling stronger and feeling well can move in opposite directions. Mastermolnar’s contest account pairs strength with dangerous road rage; it appears twice verbatim and is one experience. Diet restriction and trenbolone were part of the same period. Forum advice about “liver support” does not demonstrate protection. iSARMS
- Mass claims need the rest of the stack. The 2023 writer attributed substantial size partly to trenbolone and also disclosed testosterone. Their repeated attempts and replies remain one person’s history, not independent confirmation. Community reports cannot establish efficacy or safety. Personal report
