How to play Badminton Serve Target Ladder

Step 1

Players serve in turn and call the target zone before each serve.

Step 2

A legal serve that lands in the called zone moves that player or team up one rung.

Step 3

Two misses on the same rung drop the player or team back one rung.

Step 4

Rotate servers after each attempt so everyone sees the same ladder.

Scoring

How the result works

One rung for each called target hit. Optional bonus rung for clearing all four zones without a miss.

Example: A player calls deep, lands the shuttle in the deep service zone, and moves from rung two to rung three.

Host tip

Keep it clean

Making target zones too tiny. Use generous safe markers for the first round, then tighten them if the group wants pressure.

Safety: Keep markers flat, clear loose shuttles, and keep waiting players outside the service lane.
