Quick start.

“Play each hole normally. Any three-putt takes the snake marker; holding it at the end loses the side game.”

Run the round

How to play Snake

Step 1

Count putts only after each ball reaches the green.

Step 2

When a player needs three or more putts on a hole, move the snake marker to that player.

Step 3

Keep playing the round normally and move the marker again if someone else three-putts later.

Scoring

How the result works

The snake marker is the penalty; each three-putt can add one snake mark if the group wants a tally.

Example: Count putts only after each ball reaches the green.

Host tip

Keep it clean

Counting chips from off the green as putts. Start counting only once the ball is on the green.

Safety: Wait until every ball on the green has stopped before moving the snake marker.
