Run the round

How to play Two-Base Relay Kickball

Step 1

One participant makes a controlled ground kick through the lane gate, runs to the finish base, and clears the runout while everyone else stays behind the waiting line.

Step 2

A clean gate plus base touch scores 1; a missed gate, missed base, or false start scores 0, while an obstruction or unsafe condition is a no-count replay.

Step 3

The host calls dead before retrieval, then rotates the FIFO roster until every participant has completed each lane once.

Scoring

How the result works

Each clean kick-through-gate plus base-touch leg scores 1, for a maximum of 2 per participant.

Example: One participant makes a controlled ground kick through the lane gate, runs to the finish base, and clears the runout while everyone else stays behind the waiting line.

Host tip

Keep it clean

Changing the feed, start line, or base target between players. Keep the setup equal.

Safety: Use one soft rubber kickball, flat visible bases and markers, and separated running and ball paths. No metal cleats, sliding, contact, hard body/head throws, or blind throws; stop for injury, obstruction, weather, or a loose-ball collision risk.
