Changed Plans Do Not Make God's Promise Unreliable
A changed itinerary is not proof that God's promise says yes and no.
Paul appeals to a conscience shaped by grace, not by manipulative double speech. He had hoped to visit Corinth on the way to and from Macedonia; the revision became a charge of vacillation. He answers by locating every divine promise's yes in Christ, then pointing to God who establishes, anoints, seals, and gives the Spirit as first installment.
Christ's yes holds the gospel steady. It does not make every human plan, prediction, or ministry decision infallible, and an appeal to conscience does not replace records or explanation.
How this should shape us
When plans change, say so, name the cost to others, and do not borrow God's faithfulness as a shield for ordinary decisions you still owe people.
