Colossians 1:21-23
Cosmic Reconciliation Reaches Formerly Alienated People
Enemies are brought near through Christ's body, then called to stay.
They once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds. God has now reconciled them in Christ's fleshly body through death, to present them holy, without blemish, and above reproach before him.
That presentation holds if they continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel they heard — the gospel proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which Paul became a servant. Continuance is loyalty to a public message, not graduation into a higher inner ring.
How this should shape us
If old hostility still argues that you do not belong, answer it with the cross you already heard, and keep showing up in that same gospel instead of hunting a newer spiritual upgrade.
