Ecclesiastes 3:16-22
Injustice, Judgment, and the Shared Breath of Death
Wickedness in the place of judgment
He saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there, and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. He said in his heart that God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; there is a time there for every purpose.
He also said that God tests them, that they might see they are beasts. One event to man and beast; all go to one place; all are of the dust. Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward? Therefore a man should rejoice in his own works; that is his portion. The shared death is not a denial of judgment, and judgment is not a denial of the tears in the court.
