Exodus 25:23–30
The Table Holds the Bread of the Presence
A gold table with rings, staves, and vessels
A table of acacia, overlaid with gold, has a crown, a hand-breadth border, four rings at the feet for staves, and pure-gold dishes, spoons, covers, and bowls.
Bread before me always
On that table they are to set shewbread before God always. The furniture's purpose is ordered, continual provision in God's presence—not a banquet for priests to invent, and not a promise that every later table will be miraculously stocked.
Like the ark, the table is made to be borne. Presence among a traveling people includes bread that is regularly set out, not only an inner chest.
How this should shape us
If you keep a regular offering of food, money, or time before God, make the rhythm visible and the vessels accountable. Do not let 'always' become a luxury the poor fund while leaders eat, and do not turn the bread into a superstition.
