Exodus 27:9–19
The Courtyard Sets an Outer Boundary
Hangings, pillars, and brass sockets enclose a court
The court is a hundred cubits south and north, hangings of fine twined linen, twenty pillars and twenty brass sockets, silver hooks and fillets. The west side is fifty cubits, ten pillars. The east is fifty, with fifteen-cubit hangings on either side of the gate, three pillars each.
A colored gate, and every vessel of brass
The gate is a twenty-cubit hanging of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen, embroidered, on four pillars. All pillars around have silver fillets and hooks; sockets are brass. The court is a hundred by fifty, hangings five cubits high. All vessels of service and all pins of court and tabernacle are brass.
The public boundary is measured and gated. People do not wander into holy space as if it were open ground, and the gate is not a blank wall: it is a made, colored entrance. Reconstruction limits remain; the unit's claim is an ordered court, not a tourist plan.
How this should shape us
If you set a public boundary around worship, say how wide it is, what the gate costs, and who can enter. Pins and sockets count. Do not use courtyard language to hide a luxury interior behind a cheap fence the workers paid for.
