Ezekiel 11:22–25
The Glory Pauses East of the City and Ezekiel Reports the Vision
The cherubim lift, and glory stands on the mountain east of the city
Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. The glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
Afterwards the Spirit takes him up, and brings him in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that he had seen goes up from him.
He speaks to them of the captivity all the things the LORD had shewed him
The eastward pause is reported, then the return to the exiles, then speech. Vision becomes testimony among the people who sit by the Chebar.
The eastward pause does not map a modern flight path. Reported vision is not automatically beyond communal testing. Glory leaving the city's midst is still not a warrant for saying God has finished with Israel.
