Ezekiel 12:26–28
Claims of Distant Fulfillment Are Rejected
The vision that he seeth is for many days to come
Again the word comes: Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD. Postponement is named as a tactic, then refused.
Immediate for them is not a blank check for us
The house that wanted a remote future is told the word will be performed. That insistence is particular to Ezekiel's announced judgment.
The passage does not authorize every preacher to declare immediate fulfillment or shame prudent testing. Asking whether a word is true is not the same as saying it is for far-off times in order to dodge it.
How this should shape us
Do not file a hard word under 'someday' in order to keep your life untouched. Test speech; do not let urgency itself become the proof.
