Glory, Confinement, and Restricted Speech Prepare the Signs
Glory on the plain, then confinement
The hand of the LORD is upon him there, and he is told to go forth into the plain. Behold, the glory of the LORD stands there, as the glory he saw by the river of Chebar, and he falls on his face. The Spirit enters and sets him on his feet.
Go, shut thyself within thine house. They shall lay bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them. He is made dumb, and shall not be a reprover to them, for they are a rebellious house.
Speech opens only as the LORD opens it
When God speaks with him, he will open his mouth, and Ezekiel shall say, Thus saith the Lord GOD. He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear. Restricted speech is part of the sign that follows, not a personality theory.
The passage does not establish a universal disability theology, a mental-health diagnosis, or permission to restrain religious critics. Binding and silence belong to this call. They are not a warrant to gag opponents.

Let God open the mouth you do not own. Do not diagnose Ezekiel, and do not use his confinement to justify silencing people who disagree with you.
