A Free Feast Renews Davidic Promise for Peoples
Come, buy without money
Everyone who thirsts is called to the water. Those without money are told to buy wine and milk. Why spend for what is not bread? Listen, and eat what is good. An everlasting covenant appears as the sure mercies of David: a witness to the peoples, a leader. Nations you do not know will run to you because of the Lord your God.
The feast is free because the people are too poor for the thing they most need. Davidic promise is renewed as public witness, not as a nostalgia throne. Unknown nations running is gift, not a prosperity scheme, not instant cure, not one modern return spending the hope of chapters 40–55.
Spending on non-bread is the diagnostic. A warranted life is to stop paying premium prices for what cannot feed, to accept a covenant meal we did not purchase, and to let David's mercies become hospitality rather than a brand of supremacy.
