Elihu Turns to God's Greatness in Rain and Storm
The argument turns upward into weather
Remember that you magnify his work, which people behold. Every person may see it. A man may behold it afar off. God is great, and we do not know him, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
He makes small the drops of water. They pour down rain according to the vapor thereof, which the clouds do drop and distill on man abundantly. Also who can understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
Storm is already speaking when Elihu describes it
He spreads his light upon it and covers the bottom of the sea. By these he judges the people. He gives meat in abundance. With clouds he covers the light, and commands it not to shine by the cloud that comes between. The noise thereof shows concerning it. The cattle also concerning the vapor.
Rain, thunder, and provision are becoming Elihu's last evidence. He is preparing a whirlwind he does not know he is preparing. The poetry is not a weather report, not a claim that this storm is aimed at Job as punishment, and not modern meteorology. It is a younger man reaching for greatness when his moral chart has run as far as it can.

Let rain and thunder teach scale without letting you decode a forecast as someone's judgment. Praise what you can see of God's work, and do not force the clouds to finish an argument about a friend's guilt.
