Two Disciples Follow, Stay, and Bring Simon
Two of John's disciples follow, stay, and then Andrew brings Simon
The next day John stands with two disciples and again names Jesus as God's Lamb. They follow Jesus. He turns and asks what they seek. They ask where he dwells. He says, 'Come and see.' They come, see, and remain that day. The tenth hour is remembered because the stay mattered.
Andrew first finds his own brother Simon and says they have found the Messiah. He brings him to Jesus. Jesus looks at him and names him Cephas. The renaming anticipates a role. It does not erase Simon's later failures or give leaders permission to overwrite another person's agency.
Come and see is invitation, not capture
The first movement is hospitality and time spent, not a closed system of private access. Andrew's introduction is patient and personal. It is not a recruitment script that traps people by claiming secret knowledge.
How this should shape us
Invite people to encounter Jesus without coercion. Give them time, refuse claims of private access, and introduce others without treating their names, identities, or loyalties as yours to manage.
