Justice, truthful judgment, and protection from exploitation — In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway…
Righteousness is a road with life in it, and the path is not a death-cult
In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. The couplet is one sentence said two ways: a just walk is a living walk. No death is the book's hard contrast with the violent and deceitful roads that empty out in Sheol, not a claim that the righteous never die, never sicken, and never bury their dead.
Way and pathway keep the image on conduct, not on a private feeling. Life here is remaining in the LORD's ordered world with a straight gait. It is not a prosperity charm, not a health contract, and not a sneer at graves.
How this should shape us
Choose the road because it is right, not because you were promised immunity. Let this line pull you off a path that only works if someone else is diminished. When death comes to a just person, bury them with honor; do not say the path failed.
