Pramiracetam is an oral racetam nootropic discussed for staying with demanding work, finding words and remembering information. Some users describe calmer task focus; others report dullness, sleepiness or no noticeable benefit. The clearest productivity stories here include caffeine or other compounds, so they do not establish an isolated Pramiracetam effect.
What Pramiracetam is
- Pramiracetam, Pramistar and CI-879 refer to the same core drug identity. Pramistar is a medicinal-product name; CI-879 is a research code. Pramiracetam is a non-peptide racetam, distinct from piracetam, phenylpiracetam and Noopept. The inspected reports concern swallowed products, not an injectable blend. Official context Official context Personal report
- Form matters when comparing an amount. The Romanian tablet expresses its strength as Pramiracetam supplied in sulfate form. Forum powders often omit the salt and assay basis, so a reported powder amount cannot automatically be equated with a labeled medicine. Official context Personal report
What people report
- Less resistance to difficult work. The Reddit reviewer found math and programming more tolerable, with easier verbal expression and less anxiety. They also reported reading difficulty; a feeling of mental energy did not improve every task. Caffeine, bromantane and creatine were included in their stack. Personal report
- Focus is easier to describe than better memory. The timed Erowid account described finishing tasks with fewer distractions but explicitly withheld a claim of objectively improved memory. A separate Reddit author listed Pramiracetam among compounds that produced no perceived benefit. Personal report Personal report
Closest comparisons
- Piracetam and Pramiracetam have overlapping discussion, not interchangeable effects. Al Fizya preferred Pramiracetam’s work focus to piracetam’s more social, creative feeling, then later combined them again. That changing personal comparison cannot establish a winner. Personal report
- Noopept, phenylpiracetam and caffeine answer different questions for different users. The Reddit author found Noopept and oxiracetam unhelpful or tiring and phenylpiracetam energizing, yet preferred caffeine for studying. Their Pramiracetam stack already contained caffeine; this is not a caffeine-free comparison or proof of an ADHD treatment. Personal report
Doses people discuss
These are reported or circulated amounts, not instructions. mg means milligrams; per-use amounts and daily totals are different.
- 300 mg twice daily: 600 mg/day in the Reddit review. The author swallowed powder at 09:00 and 12:00 during a one-week report. Their disclosed co-use was caffeine 200 mg, bromantane 50 mg and creatine 5 g; those are attribution details, not a recommended combination. Personal report
- 400 mg orally in one timed account. NooMind used a capsule with 500 mg Alpha-GPC after espresso. This was intermittent use, not a daily dose band. Personal report
- Higher repeated amounts did not produce a stable result. Al Fizya reported about 300 mg three times daily (900 mg/day), then 600 mg three times daily (1,800 mg/day), followed by marked sleepiness and inconsistent benefit. These are adverse-context amounts, not escalation steps. Personal report
- A chart calls 300–600 mg twice daily “standard.” That means 600–1,200 mg/day, but the compiler had not tried the compounds and did not specify route or formulation. Its separate 100–200 mg entry lacks frequency. Neither establishes what most users take or a safe range. Community guide
Half-life: circulation versus measurement
- 4.5–6.5 hours is circulated as a human elimination estimate. A StackAdvice reply repeats that research-derived figure, alongside a separate 2–8-hour claim. Neither was measured by the commenter; its dog figure is a different species and is not a human estimate. Reddit
- Other charts disagree. The MEGA LIST gives 3–5 hours and says others claim 6–8 hours, without usable supporting citations. These claims should not be merged into one validated range. Half-life describes drug elimination, not the length of a productive work session. Community guide
Onset: when a change was noticed
- 30–40 minutes in the timed combination report. NooMind noticed a calmer feeling after Pramiracetam plus Alpha-GPC, following espresso; the feeling peaked around an hour. That is subjective onset under co-use, not an isolated drug measurement. Personal report
- Repeated use did not follow a predictable buildup. Al Fizya initially noticed nothing for four days. Later responses varied as the regimen changed; this does not establish a required waiting period. Personal report
Duration: how long the feeling lasted
- About five hours, fading to baseline by seven, in one account. Those times describe NooMind’s combined-use experience. They are not a guaranteed Pramiracetam window, a half-life or a safe redosing interval. Personal report
- The one-week Reddit review gives no isolated single-dose duration. Morning and midday use plus other active compounds prevent its productive-day description from supplying a clean duration estimate. Personal report
Cycles and breaks
- Intermittent task use and a one-week daily report both appear. NooMind described occasional task-focused use; the Reddit reviewer described one week. Neither establishes a best course length. Personal report Personal report
- No reliable reset interval emerges. Al Fizya reported that short, unspecified breaks did not solve the inconsistency. A later improvement with 750 mg once daily plus piracetam belongs to the same changing account, not a separate confirmation. Personal report
Good to know
- Dullness can interfere with the work people want to improve. The Reddit account includes reading difficulty and forehead pressure. The community chart repeats emotional numbness, while the Reddit author explicitly says they could still joke and enjoy things. These accounts do not establish how often either response occurs. Personal report Community guide
- Stomach discomfort and disrupted sleep are relevant. The timed account reports heartburn. Separately, the Romanian label lists nausea, upper-abdominal pain, agitation, insomnia and dizziness, and warns that adverse effects can affect driving or machinery use. Personal report Official context
- Kidney function and certain health contexts matter. The Romanian label warns about slower elimination with renal impairment and contraindicates severe renal impairment, hepatic impairment, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Its anticoagulant, antiplatelet and clotting precautions partly rely on piracetam findings; that basis should not be misrepresented as a direct Pramiracetam interaction trial. Official context
- A nootropic label does not establish supplement status or safety. The FDA’s 2019 warning letter identified marketed Pramiracetam as an unapproved new drug for the promoted uses and rejected dietary-supplement status for those products. Favorable forum accounts cannot verify product contents, interaction safety or long-term use. Official context Personal report
What the community accounts add
- Caffeine may be doing part of the work. The Reddit author specifically preferred caffeine to phenylpiracetam for studying and said bromantane made them more sensitive to stimulants. Their positive Pramiracetam report cannot identify which ingredient caused focus, anxiety relief or stimulation. They also disclosed prior psychosis and discontinued antipsychotics, so this was not an uncomplicated healthy-user baseline. Personal report
- A later update can change the meaning of an enthusiastic report. Al Fizya’s February update returned to a Pramiracetam–piracetam combination after earlier inconsistency. Replies blamed caffeine or choline, but the thread did not establish those explanations. Personal report
- No response is a valid part of the record. The nonresponder explicitly names Pramiracetam but provides no amount, form or course. That limits comparison; it does not justify assuming the person needed more, a particular stack or a different product. Personal report
- A compiled list is not another person’s successful trial. The MEGA LIST author says they had not personally tried the listed compounds. Its repeated dose and half-life figures document circulating claims, not independent confirmation; crossposting the same list does not add new experiences. Community guide
What formal research adds
- Measured elimination: 4.5–6.5 hours in a small oral study. Chang and colleagues studied two groups of six healthy men using single fasted oral doses of 400, 800, 1,200 and 1,600 mg. The abstract reports that harmonic mean elimination half-life and a blood peak at 2–3 hours. Blood peak is not felt onset, and a single-dose study does not settle repeated-use safety. Official context
- Clinical memory findings concerned injured brains. A 1991 placebo-controlled study reported improved recall in males with head injury or anoxia, using 400 mg pramiracetam sulphate three times daily. Its abstract also describes an 18-month open follow-up and a one-month observation after stopping. This does not show that healthy students get lasting memory improvement. Official context
- Product labeling is a separate context. The Romanian label gives a 4–6-hour half-life and a 2–3-hour plasma peak. Those medicine figures are retained here rather than substituted for the five community answers above. Official context
