Afflicted Imitators Become an Example as They Turn, Serve, and Wait
The report others tell is turn, serve, and wait.
They became followers of the missionaries and of the Lord by receiving the word in affliction with joy of the Holy Ghost. That reception became an example in Macedonia and Achaia, and their faith sounded out so that the team did not need to advertise it. Others already report the change: they turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven.
The awaited Son is the one God raised from the dead, who delivers from the wrath to come. Waiting is allegiance beside service, not a date chart. Imitation is a tested gospel pattern, not personality copying. Affliction is not made good, and Gentile turning to the living God is not a claim that Jewish people were discarded.
How this should shape us
Imitate only what can be openly tested in truth and love. Let hope send you into service rather than speculation, and do not treat suffering as marketing for faith.
