Signs, Parental Care, and Shared Financial Integrity
Signs happened, yet the distinctive proof he wants remembered is that he did not feed on them.
He has been a fool, and they drove him to it; they ought to have commended him, for he is not inferior to the super-apostles, even though he is nothing. The signs of an apostle were performed among them with utmost endurance, with signs and wonders and mighty works. How were they inferior, except that he himself did not burden them? He seeks them, not their possessions. Parents lay up for children; he will most gladly spend and be spent. "If I loved you less, am I to be loved less?" Let it be granted he did not burden them—but was he crafty and took them by deceit? Did he take advantage through anyone he sent? Titus walked in the same spirit and the same steps.
Signs and wonders do not authorize modern claims of apostolic rank without evidence, doctrine, safeguarding, and accountability. Super-apostles language is not a license to smear ordinary coworkers. Parental imagery does not make adults children to be controlled. Spending oneself does not require burnout or create a loyalty debt. Matching conduct between leader and delegates is the financial point.
How this should shape us
Keep the money trail identical for the leader and the people sent. Publish how funds move, and let care chase persons rather than their wallets or their dependence.
