Peaceful Diligence and Careful Reading Answer Delay
Count patience as salvation; read Paul without twisting him
Therefore, beloved, while waiting, be diligent to be found at peace, without spot or blemish. Count the patience of our Lord as salvation. Paul has written the same according to the wisdom given him, in all his letters, where some things are hard to understand. The unstable twist those writings, as they do the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
Being spotless and blameless does not refer to physical appearance, disability, ethnicity, sexual history, class, or ritualized perfectionism. It is moral integrity in community, not a body audit. Hard pages in Paul — and in this letter — are still Scripture; they are not a playground. Authorship questions about 2 Peter belong in the same honest light: a disputed origin does not cancel the warning against twist, and a canonical letter does not make every confident interpreter safe.
How this should shape us
When a hard verse in Paul suddenly 'fits' your grievance too perfectly, slow down. Count delay as someone else's chance to live, including yours. Peace and integrity are the answer to waiting, not a smear campaign and not a chart. Do not use a difficult paragraph as cover for becoming the kind of reader who cannot be corrected.

The text securely treats Paul's wisdom as given, some material as hard, distortion as dangerous, and peaceable diligence as required.
