Acts 23:11

The Lord confirms witness in Rome

The Lord stands by a prisoner and names Rome as the next witness stand

That night the Lord stands by Paul and says to take courage: as he has testified about him in Jerusalem, so he must also bear witness in Rome.

The promise concerns this man's vocation and destination. It does not declare every later legal maneuver divinely approved, painless, or transferable to every traveler. Rome is a place of testimony under custody, not a sacred political center, and it does not replace Jerusalem or Israel.

How this should shape us

Let reassurance strengthen faithful witness where you actually are. Do not treat a personal word to Paul as a safety guarantee, a political blessing on empire, or a blank check for your next decision.

Teach it back

Explain Acts 23:11 in your own words, naming its movement, speaker or narrator role, one source-controlled detail, one uncertainty, one affected person, and one conclusion the passage does not authorize.

Your explanation stays in this browser. It is not sent or saved.
