Ephesians 4:7–16
Christ Gives Gifts for a Mature Body
Christ gives gifts so the whole body grows up, not so one personality owns the room.
The ascended Christ gives apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body until we all reach maturity. The goal is a church that speaks truth in love and grows into Christ the head.
Use whatever gift you have to equip others. If a gift makes people dependent on one stage, it is being used against its purpose.

If your gift is teaching, hosting, organizing, or care, use it this week to equip someone else. Refuse any modern platform that makes the body wait on one personality.

Best judgment: Interpreters disagree over details of Psalm 68's use, Christ's descent, the duration and later form of the listed ministries, the relation of pastors and teachers, and the punctuation of verse 12. The grammar links pastors and teachers closely without requiring them to be one identical group, and the paragraph's stated purpose remains the equipping and maturation of the whole body.
