Children and Parents Under the Lord
Honor in the Lord is formation, not a cover for cruelty.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Parental authority is for nurture, not humiliation. A home that uses "honor" to cover harm has left the text. Adults who grew up under harsh rule are not required to pretend it was holy.
