Ezekiel 40:38–43
Washing Chamber, Slaughter Tables, and Hooks Serve Offerings
The chamber where they wash the burnt offering
The chambers and the entries thereof are by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering. In the porch of the gate are two tables on this side and two on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.
At the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, are two tables; on the other side of the porch, two tables. Four tables on a side, eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.
Hooks, stone, and a cubit's border
The four tables were of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice. Within were hooks, an hand broad, fastened round about, and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.
This is priestly slaughter furniture for a visionary house. It does not authorize animal cruelty, illegal slaughter, or a Christian mandate to restart offerings. Blood and washing belong to this restoration architecture's honesty about approach, not to a backyard rite.
How this should shape us
See that offerings in this vision still require washing, tables, and named instruments. Do not romanticize killing, do not copy it against the law, and do not say the gospel needs these hooks rebuilt.
