Priestly Chambers Hold Holy Food and Garments

North chambers, then south, measured for priests

He brings Ezekiel into the utter court, the way toward the north, and into the chamber that is over against the separate place and over against the building toward the north. Before the length of an hundred cubits is the north door, and the breadth is fifty cubits. Over against the twenty cubits of the inner court, and over against the pavement of the utter court, is gallery against gallery in three stories.

Before the chambers a walk of ten cubits' breadth inward, a way of one cubit, and their doors toward the north. The upper chambers are shorter, because the galleries are higher than the lower and the middlemost. The wall without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof is fifty cubits. The chambers in the outer court are fifty cubits, and lo, before the temple an hundred cubits. A way below by the wall toward the east is the way in.

They shall eat the most holy things there

The chambers southward over against the separate place and the building receive the same measure. Then he says, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things. There shall they lay the most holy things, the meat offering, the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.

When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.

Purity boundaries here are about holy food and holy clothes, not a ranking of human dignity, and not a cloak for clergy to conceal exploitation. Garments stay in the holy chambers so holiness is not paraded as status in the outer court.
