Ezekiel 44:28–31
The LORD Is the Priests' Inheritance and Offerings Supply Them
I am their inheritance
And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance. Ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.
They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs. The first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest's: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.
The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself
The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.
The LORD as inheritance is why they lack a tribal map, not why they may be left hungry. Designated offerings and firstfruits support them. Ministerial support does not authorize enrichment, financial coercion, or neglect of transparent accountability. Carrion is forbidden as a priestly food rule, not as a slur on the poor.
How this should shape us
Pay those whose portion is God with the offerings named, not with land-grabs and not with pressure. Do not let 'I am their inheritance' become a fundraising spell, and do not hide the books because the work is holy.
