Ezekiel 6:8–10
A Scattered Remnant Remembers and Loathes Its Wrong
Yet will I leave a remnant
Ye shall have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries. They that escape of you shall remember the LORD among the nations whither they shall be carried captives.
He is broken with their whorish heart which has departed from him, and with their eyes which go a-whoring after their idols. They shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
They shall know that I have not said in vain
They shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them. Memory in scatter is recognition, not a demand that survivors destroy themselves.
Self-loathing language does not authorize self-hatred, abuse, racial stigma, or withholding trauma care. Loathing the wrong is not a command to despise the self or a people.
How this should shape us
Let a remnant remember God without being taught to hate themselves. Name the grief of betrayal; still give care to the wounded; never turn this into racial shame.
