Galatians 2:11–14
Cephas's Withdrawal Makes Gentile Belonging Unequal
When Cephas leaves the Gentile table, equal belonging collapses.
Fear of the circumcision party pulls Cephas back from eating with Gentiles. Other Jewish believers and even Barnabas follow, and the public effect is pressure on Gentiles to take on Jewish practice in order to share the meal as equals.
The issue is hypocrisy that makes table fellowship a membership test, not kosher practice as such. Critique of Cephas does not authorize anti-Jewish stereotypes, contempt for Jewish food discipline, or blame of a whole people.
How this should shape us
Sit with the people Messiah has already received. Do not let insider fear redraw the table, and do not treat Jewish practice as the problem when unequal welcome is the wound.

A strong synthesis sees the social and theological dimensions together while admitting uncertainty over the feared group, food details, and speech boundary.
