Read verses 8–9 as one sentence and read them with verses 2–3. Verse 8 names the creature groups but does not say what they do; verse 9 completes the action by reporting their paired entry as God commanded.
Why It Needs Context
Verse 8 is an unfinished creature list. Without verse 9, a reader loses the action, pairing, destination, and obedience connection that give the list its role.
