Isaiah 57:1–2
The Unnoticed Righteous Enter Peace before Disaster
The righteous perish, and no one lays it to heart
Devout people die, and the public does not notice what the deaths mean. The poem offers an interpretation: they are taken away from evil that is coming; they enter peace; they rest in their beds who walked uprightly. It is a word for a community that cannot read its own losses.
This is pastoral reading of particular deaths in a corrupt time, not a universal formula for every early death. Survivors are not to be blamed. Grief is not to be minimized with a proverb. Peace and rest are gift-language for the faithful dead, not a demand that the living feel fine.
Why 'no one considers'? Because a society can be so loud with appetite that it misses the quiet disappearance of the people who held it together. A warranted life is to lay to heart the deaths of the just, to tell the truth about coming evil without using the dead as props, and to let rest be rest.

Lay to heart the deaths of the just, and do not paper grief with a formula. Rest is gift for the dead, not a demand that the living feel fine.
