Harvest edges are left for people who need them

The owner is not to reap the field's corners or gather the gleaning of harvest or vineyard. Those remain for the poor and for the stranger. Neighbor love here is food left on the ground, not a feeling added after profit is maximized.

Wages, bodies, courts, and speech are holiness too

Theft, lying, and false oaths that profane God's name are forbidden. A worker's wages are not to remain overnight. A deaf person is not to be cursed; a stumbling block is not to be placed before a blind person; the people are to fear God. Judgment must not honor the poor out of partiality or favor the mighty.

Slander is barred, and a person must not stand idle when a neighbor's blood is at stake. These are concrete social commands. Disability is not a metaphor for sin. Blind and deaf neighbors are protected from hidden cruelty.

Love of neighbor closes a chain, not a slogan

Israel is not to hate a brother in the heart, but to rebuke a neighbor and not bear sin because of him. Vengeance and grudges against one's people are forbidden. 'Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.'

The famous sentence is the last link in a chain that already named gleaning, unpaid wages, courtroom bias, gossip, bystander harm, and quiet hatred. Neighbor love is those practices gathered into one command.
