Eleazar, Joshua, and Ten Leaders Will Divide the Land
Eleazar and Joshua stand with one named leader from each receiving tribe
The LORD tells Moses that these are the names of the men who shall divide the land: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. One prince of every tribe is to take the inheritance. Judah: Caleb son of Jephunneh. Simeon: Shemuel son of Ammihud. Benjamin: Elidad son of Chislon. Dan: Bukki son of Jogli. Joseph, for Manasseh: Hanniel son of Ephod. Ephraim: Kemuel son of Shiphtan. Zebulun: Elizaphan son of Parnach. Issachar: Paltiel son of Azzan. Asher: Ahihud son of Shelomi. Naphtali: Pedahel son of Ammihud.
The list is public so the division cannot be a private deal
These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan. Priest, successor, and tribal names are all on the record. The commission does not authorize clerical land control, insider dealing, tribal caricature, or any later person claiming these officials' authority.
