Watchers Refuse Silence until Jerusalem Is Established

You who remind the Lord, take no rest

Watchers are set on Jerusalem's walls. They shall never be silent, day or night. You who remind the Lord, give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth. The Lord has sworn by his right hand: I will not again give your grain as food to your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored. Those who harvest it shall eat it and praise the Lord; those who gather it shall drink it in my holy courts.

Intercession is stubborn memory. The oath answers a precise humiliation: producing food that occupying mouths drink. This is not a land deed, not nationalist immunity, not supersession, not a warrant to police women. Laborers eating their own harvest is ordinary justice elevated to oath.

Give him no rest is permission to keep asking. A warranted life is to become a watcher who will not let God or the community forget unfinished restoration, and to insist that work and praise meet in the same mouthful without turning the oath into a weapon against neighbors.
